Malabar coffee
India
Arabica highland
Malabar coffee thrives on the west coast of India in the area surrounding Mangalore. Following the harvest, the beans are first laid out and exposed to the monsoon rains for five days, during which time they swell with moisture. They then spend seven weeks exposed to the monsoon winds, which dry them out, giving them an unmistakeable, smooth and well-rounded taste. An easy-to-tolerate, non-acidic coffee with a spicy, powerful body giving a soft yet full-bodied taste. A strong coffee suitable even for sensitive stomachs.
